Derby & South Derbyshire Ramblers

Working for walkers

What we do?

Derby and South Derbyshire Group of the Ramblers' Association has around 550 members.

We have a programme of walks led by volunteer leaders. See Walking with our group for further information.

  • Sunday

    • Longer walks - these walks are normally between 8 and 17 miles, we often meet at Darley Park Drive Car Park, unless specified in the programme, we then drive out in to Derbyshire and surrounding counties such as Staffordshire and Cheshire.

    • Shorter walks - walks of about 5 miles, usually in South Derbyshire

  • Wednesday - these are walks of 8 to 10 miles maximum, usually starting at 10.30

Looking after the Footpath network and maintaining access rights.

  • We survey footpaths, report on obstructions, work to maintain access

Many people join to support the work of the RA rather than to walk with a group.
